Family-friendly fun is on your doorstep at Kings Central

From gorgeous parklands to upmarket shopping centres, there really is something for each and every family dynamic to enjoy. 

We’ve outlined some of the best family-friendly spots to entertain little ones in the Western Sydney region. 

Western Sydney Parklands 

Adults and children alike will be wowed by the expansive Western Sydney Parklands, which encompasses 5,280 hectares and is stretched over 27 kilometres. Bungarribee Park is a sight that almost needs to be seen to be believed, with its eye-catching and abstract slide and climbing tower installation.  

You could visit the Western Sydney Parklands numerous times and still not uncover all of the hidden gems it has to offer. From the picnic spots at The Dairy to the Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens in the Nurragingy Reserve, the young and young-at-heart will love visiting these parklands.

Penrith BMX Club 

The Penrith BMX Club is for the thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies wanting to scale new heights. Whether you’re interested in private coaching, club practice or race events, the Penrith BMS Club offers an inclusive community for riders to get involved in. The track is also open to the public outside of these service offerings, so you can give BMX a try with the whole family. 

The Penrith BMX Club is conveniently located on Creek Road, St Marys. 

Werrington Lake Reserve 

Soak up the best of nature at the Werrington Lake Reserve, that boasts a playground, splash play pad, picnic facilities and of course, a stunning lake. This sprawling reserve is a crowd favourite with children of all ages. For little ones, there’s age appropriate play with swings, monkey bars, slides and more, while older children will enjoy the open green spaces to kick a soccer ball and run around. The lake is surrounded by cycling and walking paths, so it’s also an ideal place for families to enjoy a group walk or cycle. 

You’ll find the reserve located on Burton Street in Werrington. 

Ripples Leisure Centres 

For the family that enjoys working up a sweat and keeping fit, you’ll love the Ripples Leisure Centre. Particularly popular on hot summer days where the mercury is high, everything you want – and need – from a Leisure Centre is located at Ripples. With outdoor pools, a playground, café, and fun splash pad, there’s fun and fitness opportunities available for all ability levels. 

Adults can choose to pump iron and tone up at the available gym classes, where group training and personal training sessions are on offer. For those with little ones that are new to the water, you’ll be able to enrol them in learn to swim classes or their swim school programs.

Penrith Westfield 

Penrith Westfield is your one-stop hub for shopping, fun and relaxation! Located just 10-minute drive from the Kings Central community, you’ll keep the kids entertained with their selection of entertainment options. From Hoyts Cinema through to the Holey Moley Golf Club, Lego Store, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and more, the hardest part will be trying to get the kids back in the car after a fun day out!
