'Tis the season to be jolly in Penrith!

Across Penrith, Christmas trees are getting decorated, shopping centres are playing festive carols and Santa is finalising his naughty and nice list in the lead up to the most wonderful time of the year.

If you’re looking for some jolly family-friendly activities to indulge in, we’ve compiled a list of the best events the region has to offer.

Santa’s Stables Christmas Photos (Saturday, 3 Dec – Saturday, 24 Dec)

Capture lifelong memories at the Penrith Homemaker Centre with Polite Playground’s free Christmas photography sessions! With a surprise special character appearance and in-centre children's activities, Santa's Stables is bringing festive farmyard celebrations to Penrith.

Christmas in the City: Outdoor Cinema (Saturday, 17 Dec – Coachmans Park)

Is there anything better than settling in for a traditional Christmas movie during the festive period? We argue yes, there is... because you could be enjoying a festive film under the stars thanks to the Penrith City Council’s Christmas in the City: Outdoor Cinema series!

While you’re there, grab some delicious takeaway food from a local restaurant or a sweet treat from a dessert truck. The first 200 people will receive a serving of free popcorn, so be sure to arrive on time!

The session will run from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, with a great line-up of movies that the whole family can enjoy.

Movie 1 - The Grinch (2018) will start at 5.30pm.

Movie 2 - The Santa Clause (1994) will start at 7.30pm.

Jordan Springs Santa Run (Saturday, 17 Dec)

He’s making a list, he’s checking it twice...

Santa Claus is going on tour with the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (Llandilo Brigade) and is stopping by our parks in Jordan Springs!

As you can imagine at this time of year, Santa is in a hurry to make his way back to the North Pole before Christmas Eve. Therefore, it’s important to arrive at your desired location on time so you don’t miss him.

PCYC Penrith School Holiday Program (Running from Monday, 19 Dec – Thursday, 22 Dec)

Keep the kids occupied with festive, fun activities held by PCYC Penrith!

From the 19th of December through to the 22nd, PCYC Penrith will be hosting a variety of Christmas-themed activities. From Christmas games, through to trivia and charades, your kids will love getting in the festive spirit with other kids in the local area.

These sessions are run by qualified coaches that have a passion for working with young people, so you can rest assured your children will have a fun and safe day out while you get on top of those last-minute Christmas tasks.
