Screen-free school holiday activities in and around Jordan Springs

It’s hard finding activities that the kids will both want to do, and that are relatively close by. Whether it’s an afternoon away from the kids or you’re looking for ways to limit screen time these holidays, we’ve compiled 8 school holiday activities in and around Jordan Springs.

  1. Jordan Springs village oval: 1- 5 minute walk
    Located right in your backyard, the Jordan Springs Village Oval is a great way for kids to run around and have some time outdoors. Complete with plenty of grass for running around, basketball courts and a fitness circuit, there’s even a ‘learn to ride’ circuit for young, budding bike riders. Kids can have an afternoon of fun and games, or if you’re looking to join them, why not have a BBQ lunch using the park facilities on a weekend!

  2. Creative Lab at Jordan Springs Shopping Centre: 2 minute walk
    If you’ve got a budding Picasso in your household or the weather’s not too great outside, why not head to Jordan Springs Shopping Centre these school holidays for their art and craft workshops. Open daily from 10am – 2pm (excluding weekends), the workshops are located just outside Woolworths and are a great way for kids to explore creativity.

  3. Werrington Lake Reserve: 11 minute drive
    Who doesn’t love a picnic? Get the kids together and spend some quality time at Werrington Lake Reserve. With stunning views and picnic tables, there’s also swings, slides and a large playground for the kids -- plus furry friends are allowed (on leashes) too!

  4. Colonial Golf and Footgolf, Werrington: 11 minute drive
    Kids can get off the screens and onto the green with footgolf! Combining golf with soccer, footgolf is a non-contact sport that teaches kids coordination in a fun and friendly way. Older kids can play around on the green too with a golf lesson or just try their hand at putting the ball.

  5. PCYC Penrith: 12 minute drive
    If you’re looking for a range of activities that the kids will love, chances are, the Penrith PCYC have it. From Ninja games, laser tag, dodgeball, painting, craft, gymnastics, hockey and plenty more, the activities change each day. All they need to bring is a water bottle, lunch and recess.   6. Livvi’s Place Playground: 13 minute walk
    If you’re looking for a playground, Livvi’s Place is worth checking out! Close to Jordan Springs, there’s a large climbing structure, mini rock-climbing wall, slides and plenty more! Older kids will love the basketball court and there’s plenty of space for pop-up cricket games or flying kites.

  7. Marsden Park Croc Play Centre: 28 minute drive
    If the kids are having friends over and you’re looking for fun, screen-free activities, why not check out the Marsden Park Croc Play Centre.   8. Calmsley Hill City Farm: 46 minute drive
    Experience the best of rural Australia right in Sydney’s backyard, at the Calmsley Hill City Farm. With a range of animals to visit on-site including native animals, a farmyard nursery, woolshed and plenty of shows throughout the day. Kids will love interacting and learning about the animals and parents will love the café. Camping is also available at the farm from April – September.
