Sustainability and Environment
Jordan Springs is nestled in a recess on the western side of the 900ha Wianamatta Regional Park. The park includes heritage-listed Cumberland Plain Woodland, provides a natural habitat for native wildlife and plants and will soon be home to a range of eco-sensitive facilities including walking and bike trails.
Within the Jordan Springs community Lendlease has planned for a total of 17ha of open space with parks set to preserve significant strands of existing native trees.
All homes constructed at Jordan Springs must comply with stringent Building Sustainability Index (BASIX) requirements that use specific design strategies for lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation to improve energy and water efficiency.
Homes are also required to include 50% Australian native plants in their landscaping to further reduce their reliance on water.
