The Skilling & Employment Centre has assisted jobseekers into more than 6,200 jobs, 1,070 training programs and 2,560 skilling courses since it was opened in 2005.
The centre is a local community initiative funded by Lendlease to assist job seekers in Ropes Crossing, Jordan Springs and surrounding areas. It is our aim to encourage people to be independent and motivated in their job search and we use every endeavour to help them find appropriate work.
We work with local employers to assist with their Employment Vacancies. To assist job seekers we offer regular courses on resume and cover letter preparation, interview techniques and computer skills. And our jobs page is regularly updated with local job and traineeship opportunities.
In 2016 we also commenced our construction employment initiative which also offers free services to jobseekers and employers. The initiative is building a network of local employers to identify the skills needed to support the construction boom in Western Sydney.
Job seekers are provided with pathways into civil construction, trade services and apprenticeships as well as gaining access to industry training.
