New community park to bring play and discovery to your doorstep

A new park is coming to our growing community, situated right of the doorstep of our Aspen release.

Providing the perfect location to catch up with the neighbours, this exciting new park will encourage the young and young-at-heart to immerse themselves in our great outdoors, play, discover, learn and connect.

The park will begin construction in the first half of 2023, and will feature nature spaces, a playground, shelter, and plenty of open spaces for a family game of cricket.

This will be Calderwood Valley’s fifth park, with many more thoughtfully designed green open spaces still to come, allowing residents to experience the beauty of nature right on their doorstep. This exciting new space will provide seating and areas for an afternoon picnic, expansive open space to kick a ball and a play structure for children.

Did you know that open space landscapes play an important role in connecting a community, facilitating interaction with neighbours and inspiring exploration of the natural environment – not to mention encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle?

Five reasons parks are important for children

The power of outdoor play has been proven to offer a range of developmental benefits for children.

By providing them with access to their natural environment, it encourages and promotes:

  • Open-ended, imaginative, and unstructured play
  • Building their self-confidence
  • Increased physical wellness
  • Improving creativity, socialisation, and self-regulation
  • Coordination, strength & motor skills
