Future residents form community connections at the ‘Visit Your Lot’ event
We had a fantastic time welcoming our newest future residents to Calderwood Valley at the Visit Your Lot event. Attendees enjoyed viewing their lots up close and seeing where their dream homes will soon be built, as well as plenty of entertainment including a live soloist, face painter, and food trucks. There was even a surprise proposal on the day!
It was a beautiful blue-sky day with perfect weather for people walking on their lots and taking pictures in the place where soon their home will be built. The crowds cheered on as a special proposal took place for one happy couple, Keeley Shelton and Jessy Borthwick. Getting engaged while standing on the lot where their future home will come to life was a big surprise for Keeley.
“I definitely didn’t expect it on this day! We didn’t know what to expect with the visit your lot event but it was so well run, had so many activities and was a great way to meet people,” Keeley said.
“We were attracted to Calderwood Valley as it has great development plans for schools, shops etc. For a young couple this is a must when looking for somewhere to live...we’re excited about building our forever home and one day raising a family in Calderwood Valley.”
Children got creative at the free craft station, with 90 kids getting their craft on as their families met and mingled with their future neighbours and the friendly Lendlease team.
Social Sustainability Manager Alison Ora said it was a great day for all involved.
“We were delighted to welcome our future residents to our beautiful community in this event,” said Alison.
“It was a special opportunity for residents to view the site up close and get a real sense of their street and lot orientation before construction begins. This was also an opportunity for them to get to know their future neighbours and connect with their community.”
There’s so much happening in our community! We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook here to see what’s on in Calderwood Valley.
