Calderwood Valley community update

Calderwood Valley has established itself as a thriving, connected community our residents are proud to call home. Our community has been a hive of activity in the past few months and we are so excited to share some big milestones! 

Plans have been approved for an exciting new village centre, which will be the first shopping precinct for our growing community, providing modern conveniences and amenities for residents and visitors to enjoy.   

The village centre will feature a Woolworths supermarket, as well as a childcare, gym, swim school, medical, veterinary clinic, pharmacy, speciality retailers and an outdoor dining precinct. Construction is anticipated to commence in late-2022 and be completed in late-2023. 

New to the neighbourhood, Plough & Ale Inn has now opened its doors for Calderwood Valley residents and the wider community. It’s been fantastic to see families enjoying a delicious lunch, neighbours catching up, as well as welcoming fresh new faces from far and wide. 

Located just opposite the District Park, the venue has become the go-to gathering spot, featuring a modern bar and restaurant, outdoor dining areas, with sweeping views of the lake, a gaming room, multiple function spaces and a children’s play area. The $20 million venue is owned and operated by Laundry Hotels. 

Our community is growing 

Did you know there are officially 1,150 homes now complete in Calderwood Valley, and there is still plenty of future growth on the horizon, with a further 3,000 homes still to come over the next 10 years. 

Calderwood Valley’s latest land release – Aspen – is now in its final stages of construction and is expected to be complete by December 2022. Civil and earthworks are now largely complete including all roads within Stage A of Aspen, with street trees being planted soon. 

North Macquarie Road is also being upgraded as part of this stage and will be finished in November. 

Homes within Aspen feature elevated living with scenic views out the Illawarra escarpment. Once complete, Aspen will be home to around 400 residents across 149 homes. 

Stage A features 113 lots, which will be handed over to residents to commence building this November, and Stage B, which features a further 36 lots, is expected to be complete in December 2022.  

Calderwood’s next land release, located south of the future town centre, is currently under development approval and will be coming soon. This stage will comprise of 190 lots and will include our next display village. Stay tuned as we release more details in early 2023. 

Excitingly, this will be the first stage within our town centre precinct, with construction aimed to start by mid next year, pending approval. 

Playgrounds of fun! 

We have recently received development approval for a fantastic new local park in Aspen. The park will be located at 159-221 North Macquarie Road. Works will commence in early next year and are expected to be completed in mid-2023, just in time for our newest residents as they begin to move into their completed homes. 

We are excited for this park to bring more open space for recreation and relaxation, as well as a thoughtfully designed playground for children of all ages to enjoy.
