Celebrate Reconciliation Week with a special family day at Harpley, Sunday 27th May

Join us in celebrating the start of Reconciliation Week with a special family day at Harpley!

National Reconciliation Week (27 May-3 June) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The week begins on the anniversary of the successful 1967 referendum and ends on the anniversary of the High Court Mabo decision. You can find out more about National Reconciliation Week here.

The Reconciliation Week celebration at Harpley includes the local Wadawurrung community with a welcome to country and smoking ceremony, didgeridoo playing and a program of indigenous activities including ochre face painting, stories, hand painting and emu feather arm & headband making. It is also an opportunity for you to explore the Harpley Discovery Trail, an interpretive signage trail through the Harpley wetlands and Adventure Playground that explores Harpley’s wetland ecosystems and the indigenous, cultural and historical significance of the land that Harpley is built upon. Find out more about the Harpley Discovery Trail here.

Explore the Trail, enjoy Dreamtime stories from the Wadawurrung community and learn more about the indigenous, cultural and environmental significance of the land that Harpley is built upon.
