Sand Dune EarthworksWe are pleased to confirm that earthworks will begin this month on the dune opposite Alkimos Beach Primary School. This is part of the next stage of development throughout 2018/19 at Alkimos Beach.
The program will take approximately 6 months to complete with the following measures in place to ensure minimal impact to residents:
- Dust and sand drift - ongoing management with the use of water carts, street sweeping, hydro mulch and temporary irrigation.
- Operating hours - limited per the conditions of development approval to limit noise impact to the residents.
- A program and plan of the works can be viewed at the Sprout Hub community notice board.

Finished double-storey homes with ocean viewsWe’re excited that our 6 stunning homes are now completed on Providence Drive! These homes by Link Residential have been beautifully finished by the quality builder Express Two Storey Living. Infrastructure and LandscapingThe bike safety course in the north-west corner of Leatherback Park is now complete and kids and their parents are encouraged to check out this hands-on opportunity to learn vital pedestrian and bike travel safety skills. This is the first of its kind within the City of Wanneroo and will help in developing children’s cycling ability, increase cycling confidence and therefore ease potential parental concerns about the dangers of riding to school.
The new entry statement has been installed on the corner of Brindabella Parkway and Marmion Avenue as well as new streetscapes along Hawksbill Drive and Painted Parkway.
New Fitness ParkThe construction of the new Fitness Park is taking shape with our landscapers working hard to open the park to the public in early August. The following measures are in place to ensure minimal impact to residents:

- Dune Retention – The design specifically aims to retain as much of the natural dune and vegetation as possible.
Alkimos Information Showcase - 19 August 2018With many development projects planned for Alkimos, Lendlease and LandCorp will be holding an Information Showcase event on Sunday 19 August. The day will be held from 11am – 2pm at the Lighthouse Play Centre, Turnstone Street, Alkimos Beach. Government Departments and Agencies will host information booths to update community members on current and upcoming programs, developments and infrastructure projects occurring in and around Alkimos and the wider northern coastal corridor.
The event will be an excellent opportunity for residents to get the latest information about what’s going on in their community, directly from the departments and businesses that make it all happen.
Community NewsSprout Hub will no longer be open on Mondays. Winter hours have kicked in so check the web for slight changes.
The Pop Up Library on Turnstone Street is now open until the end of June, 2019. Keep an eye out for the fantastic workshop program including a recently formed STEM club for Parents and their children (7plus).

Gateway Shopping PrecinctMany of the food retailers are now open! In June, we welcomed Natt Thai Alkimos and Finch Coffee Co to Alkimos Beach. The construction of the family friendly tavern is making good progress, with the external structure now taking shape. It is expected that the tavern will open in early 2019.
Traffic ManagementSome traffic management will be in place during the dune works but should see minimal impact on residents.

Our Sister Community – Alkimos VistaAlkimos Vista Stage 1 is now titled! Containing 45 lots adjacent to the entry park and playground, they are currently released to market and selling out. The Sales and Information Centre for Alkimos Vista is currently located within the Gateway Shopping Precinct. A future Sales and Information Centre and display village for Alkimos Vista will be constructed on site, expected to open in Feb 2019.
You might have seen our new signage and bannermesh on Marmion Avenue. The Bannermesh is a beautiful display of artwork by a local Perth artist, Darren Hutchens. The artwork depicts the lifestyle of Alkimos Beach, of a coastal setting surrounded by nature and vibrancy.
