First Home - New Home Scheme
The First Home - New Home Scheme commenced on 1 January 2012 and provides eligible purchasers with exemptions from transfer duty on new homes valued up to $550,000 and concessions for new homes valued between $550,000 and $650,000.
An eligible purchaser buying a vacant block of residential land to build their home will pay no duty on vacant land valued at up to $350,000, and will receive concessions for vacant land valued between $350,000 and $450,000.
These rates apply from 1 July 2012.
First Home Owner Grant in New South Wales
The First Home Owner Grant Scheme was established to help eligible first home owners to buy or build a new home by offering a $15,000 grant.
The scheme applies to new homes only and will reduce to $10,000 on 1 January 2016.
New Home Grant Scheme
The New South Wales New Home Grant Scheme was introduced on 1 July 2012 and provides a grant of $5,000 towards the purchase of new homes, homes off the plan and vacant land on which a new home will be built.
New South Wales Regional Relocation Grant
If you're considering making a green change from the Sydney metropolitan area to a regional area you may be eligible for a Regional Relocation Grant of $7,000 on top of your other first home buyer grants to help with the cost of relocating.
