Harpley is rich with nature and history.  People, flora and fauna have lived here for many thousands of years.

The Wadawurrung people are the Traditional Owners of this land.  Theirs is a living culture with a continued connection to the Country today.

Harpley also has a fascinating history of European settlement.  The land was highly valued for farming.  The famous Chirnside family also made their mark here.

Explore the nature trails to discover Harpley’s many stories.  Look out for the interpretive signage trail along the way.

Harpley has a large wetlands sytem which is home to a wide variety of plants and animals.  Some of the wetlands are natural, such as the Black Swamp, others are man-made.

Take a closer look at the wetlands by following the boardwalks to the observation decks.  Keep your eyes open for native, migratory and introduced birds.

There are many things to do at Harpley.  You can walk or run the nature trails and view the wetlands from the observation decks.

The adventure playground is a great place for children to explore.  Picnic tables and BBQ facilities are located at the playground.  Kids activities are available on the Harpley Discovery Trail app.
