Meet Our Team: Sales Associate Robert Brereton

Robert Brereton

Robert has been with the Blakes Crossing sales force for over two years and a lot has changed in that time. He has watched the community grow from a budding development into a thriving master planned neighbourhood with lots of happy smiling families.

How long have you worked at Blakes Crossing?

I started working in Blakes Crossing on the 13 April 2015 shortly after the lake was completed and the new display village went in. Waterglen, the precinct surrounding the lake, was empty paddocks. The oval next to the school was also just dirt and the linear park was just a fence. My wife, Grace, was a barista in the shopping centre and when I came in for a coffee [I thought about how] amazing the transformation of the area was.

Who are the people who live in the Blakes Crossing community? What sort of lifestyle does Blakes Crossing offer?

Blakes Crossing has attracted so many beautiful people. The young families and their children holding balloons and getting their faces painted at our Lendlease community events makes me smile. At 8am on Saturday mornings I see lots of people jogging around the lake or walking their dogs, doing the exercise boot camp up on the oval or playing on the playground.

It is great to see [that there are interstate] families that know our development too and have moved here with work.

It amazes me how many people are moving here from Mawson Lakes and Golden Grove that have been Lendlease customers for years, know the communities that Lendlease create and (now that their children have grown up) are selling and buying a brand new home with all the modern colours, large open plan areas and great new designs that the builders are creating.

So many people are also mentioning the number of extras that are being included [in the Blakes Crossing house and land packages] too and that it’s a great time to take advantage of the offers from the builders.

What makes the Blakes Crossing community so special? Why is Blakes Crossing a great place to live?

I like trees, parks, walking trails and lakes so Blakes Crossing is definitely a beautiful area.

The people are what makes the area special though. Seeing what people do to their landscaping around their homes is stunning. Everyone is individual and the great ideas for landscaping are impressive.

What are the best community facilities in Blakes Crossing?

The amount of facilities for young families is impressive with 2 childcare centres, a great school, 2 chemists, 2 doctors and even a vet for the family pet. The playground, parks, barbeque facilities and the oval are a bonus and having multiple options for shopping is great. Everything is so close and easy to get to. I can’t wait to see what else is to come in the area opposite the shopping centre.

What is the best kept secret about Blakes Crossing?

Definitely the playground. The amount of people who are amazed when they are invited there to attend a birthday party is great. The kids end up at the playground and the parents come over and say how beautiful the area is. I sneak over to the trampolines early in the morning in my suit and tie while no one is watching!
