Blakes Crossing wins the 2017 Masterplanned Development at the UDIA National Awards for Excellence
The UDIA National Awards for Excellence program recognises the 'best of the best' in urban development, with Blakes Crossing displaying a commitment to innovation, sustainability and raising the bar in terms of development outcomes.
Managing Director of Lendlease's Communities Matthew Wallace said the business was very proud of what had been delivered at Blakes Crossing. "Recognition by the UDIA underpins the hard work of our Blakes Crossing team, who have created a positive legacy for Adelaide's north," he said.
"Our passion for planning for the next generation has seen the implementation of important sustainable infrastructure along with community amenity. Blakes Crossing is now a place with the ideal mix of country tranquility and urban convenience that people feel a part of and aspire to call home. Additionally, our strategy to implement a range of different housing choices provides a wide range of quality, yet affordable home options to meet the diverse lifestyles, needs and budgets of people and families of all ages,” Mr Wallace said.
UDIA SA Chief Executive Pat Gerace said that once again South Australian Urban Development Institute members have shown how they can innovate as well as anyone on the national stage.
“We were very confident that our SA President's Award winner Blakes Crossing by Lendlease had a good shot because they simply delivered on every aspect really well. The community just loves what they have done there,” Mr Gerace said.
UDIA National President Michael Corcoran also praised the South Australian development. "Blakes Crossing epitomises the potential that masterplanned developments have to provide residents with just about everything they need within one community," Mr Corcoran said. "From schools, to childcare to public open spaces along with a range of housing types to suit different lifestyles and budgets."
This tops off what has been an absolutely fantastic year for Blakes Crossing following a record sweeping win of four awards last November at the SA UDIA Awards for Excellence.
