Katherine Trevilyan, 26, became Blakes Crossing’s 1000th homeowner in January this year when she settled on her three bedroom, creek-front terrace.

A music teacher, Katherine had a goal to own her first house by the age of 30 and has worked hard to achieve this dream early.

When searching for her first home, the location, visual appeal and affordability of Blakes Crossing ticked all of her boxes. The schools she teaches at are all within easy access and she loves the openness and greenery it provides.

Having recently returned from a European adventure, Katherine will soon make the leap out of the family home in the nearby suburb of Angle Vale and into South Australia’s award winning development.

She found the process of buying a home at Blakes Crossing seamless and chose a Rivergum Homes terrace which fronts onto a tranquil creek. “This cleverly designed two-storey home boasts an elevated view and everything is included. These fixed price turnkey packages offer 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a double garage as well as landscaping, driveway, fencing and more. All you have to do is move in and relax”, says Marcus Watts from Rivergum Homes.

A talented musician, Katherine plays the flute, piano, clarinet, saxophone and recorder. She radiates a love for life and is happy to share her tips on buying a first home. She suggests learning about accessing the First Home Buyers Grant from the government and getting the bank to help structure your loan. She says to not be fearful, set a plan, have achievable goals and work at it. She also gives credit to her father’s encouragement to get into the property market early.
