Be surf savvy this Summer - BeachSAFE Surf Life Saving programs now open

BeachSAFE

The Summer 2016 calendar of BeachSAFE programs, conducted by Surf LifeSaving WA kicks off this month at Alkimos Beach. The programs teach a variety of water safety education skills from surf awareness through to surf rescue, as well as first aid training.

Alkimos Beach, with its crystal clear water and calm waves, is the perfect location to learn some important life saving skills, for you or your children. Running for six weeks, SurfBabies and SurfKids will target youngsters aged between 2 – 7 years. The community surf rescue certificate is a full day course great for those over the age of 13 who are interested in learning more about beach safety. Also on offer are Home Lifesavers & Senior First Aid courses teaching valuable First Aid skills.

Thanks to a unique partnership between Lendlease and SLSWA, residents of Alkimos Beach gain access to the courses free of charge. You can download the Alkimos Beach summer calendar here. To enrol in a course visit workplacelifesavers.com.au

Excitingly, a second access road to Alkimos Beach will be open by the end of this year, bringing the community that much closer to the beautiful Alkimos Beach. With parking for 30 cars, allocated space for food trucks and a temporary surf lifesaving club being installed, there’ll be no better place to be this Summer than down at Alkimos Beach!
