Infrastructure and Landscaping

The lighting infrastructure for Leatherback Oval is currently in process with an expectation that the lights will be installed and functioning by November. Flood lighting infrastructure has now commenced and this project is being managed by the City of Wanneroo and is jointly funded by Alkimos Beach and the City.

Landscaping is now complete along Pectoral Promenade with some final signage to be installed on Marmion Avenue. The Alkimos Beach Sun Deck and shade sales are now complete and the installation of the streetscapes is progressing well along Hawksbill Drive.

The Fitness Park is very close to approval with the City of Wanneroo and is scheduled for commencement this month. The remainder of Painted Parkway works is now complete.

New Fitness Park

We are pleased to confirm that construction will soon begin on a new parkland at the corner of Leatherback Boulevard and Pectoral Promenade. The program will take approximately 6 months to complete with the following measures in place to ensure minimal impact to residents:
  • Dust and Sand Drift – Ongoing management with the use of water carts, street sweeping and hydro mulch.
  • Operating hours – Limited per the conditions of development approval to limit noise impacts.
  • Dune Retention – The design specifically aims to retain as much of the natural dune and vegetation as possible.
The newest parkland area will have a fitness theme with running/walking pathways and fitness equipment within the park along with landscaping and tiered seating. We are excited to bring this new parkland to our community whilst further enhancing the beauty of your very own Alkimos Beach.
